Featuring performers with intellectual and physical disabilities, CreateAbility’s show – No Hands – is at Ulumbarra Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday.
The show was also performed the Castlemaine State Festival.
CreateAbility’s No Hands is based on a 1940s story titled The Driver by Isak Dinesen. It tells the story about a young man obsessed with angels.
The Ulumbarra performances are a good chance for people who missed the Castlemaine show to see CreateAbility in action.
“We got a standing ovation and received some great critical acclaim in Castlemaine,” director Sam Thomas said.
“But now we have moved into the big new theatre. I’m fully confident in the group and the work. This is what they deserve.”
The cast and crew have spent almost a year planning and rehearsing No Hands.
“There has been brilliant support from Capital Venues and Events. Without them we wouldn’t be able to get it to this next level,” Thomas said.
CreateAbility was founded in 2002 as part of Golden City Support Services with the drama team forming in 2005.
No Hands is at Ulumbarra on April 5 and 6 from 8pm. Visit www.thecapital.com.au/Whats_On/No_Hands for more.
