Crews will be carrying out weed control as well as helping to clean up and maintain plantings from last year at sites in Marong alongside Bullock Creek, and others around Bendigo.
Volunteer engagement officer Alex Wells said at this stage Sunday would go ahead, but Saturday would depend on numbers.
“We will be carrying out a number of different activities around the Bendigo area including weed removal, rubbish clean up and also helping to maintain some of our planting sites,” he said.
The team will be meeting at the Conservation Volunteers Australia office, 420 Hargreaves Street, Bendigo at 8am and will aim to return by 4pm.
Morning tea will be provided, but volunteers are asked to bring their own lunch and water and wear long pants, long sleeves, a hat and sturdy shoes. Any safety gear that is required will be provided.
Volunteers can register at http://bookings.conservationvolunteers.org/project/beautifying-bendigos-box-ironbark-forests or call the office on 5444 0777.
