Buckell was part of the Victorian team which dominated the team pursuit and he joined forces with Victorian team-mate Godfrey Slattery to win gold in the madison.
The victory in the 120-lap madison was particularly satisfying for Buckell.
The Bendigo teen and Slattery won five of the 12 sprints to score 43 points – seven clear of South Australia’s Braden O'Shea and Cooper Sayers.
Buckell and Victorian team-mates Godfrey Slattery, Riley Hart and Jensen Plowright were outstanding in the team pursuit.
The quartet set a new All Comers Record of 4mins 5.335secs on their way to winning back-to-back under-19 team pursuit titles.
Buckell and co thrashed Queensland's Black Quick, Elliott Schultz, Connor Reardon and Alex Claires in the final. The Queenslanders finished in 4mins 10.181secs.
The double success continues Buckell’s rise in cycling ranks. Last year the Victorian Institute of Sport squad member defeated a class field of senior riders in the prestigious Melbourne Cup on Wheels.
Meanwhile, Bendigo’s Braeden Dean won his first individual medal in elite senior competition when he took the silver medal in the men’s keirin final at the national titles.
Dean, who won the national under-19 keirin gold medal in 2014, rode strongly to finish second behind reigning Commonwealth Games champion Matthew Glaetzer.
Buckell and Dean will be two of the riders to watch at this weekend’s Bendigo International Madison carnival.
Buckell and Slattery will ride together again in the feature event – the Bendigo International Madison.
Dean will be hard to beat in the invitation keirin and the Golden Mile Wheelrace.
