No fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air in the Mallee, Wimmera, South West, Northern Country, North Central and Central districts of the state from 12.01am – 11.59pm.
The fire danger rating in the Wimmera is expected to be extreme on Wednesday, and severe in most other parts of the state.
East Gippsland and West and South Gippsland are the exceptions.
Though a Total Fire Ban has not been declared in either district, the fire danger rating is still expected to be very high on Wednesday.
A top of 33 degrees is predicted for Bendigo on Wednesday.
The day will be mostly sunny with an evening change, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Wednesday’s forecast peaks at 35 degrees in the Northern Country area.
The bureau has warned of hot and dry conditions across the state throughout the day, with fresh to strong and gusty northerly winds.
A milder, fresh southwesterly change is expected to enter the west of the state in the afternoon and reach central districts by the evening.
The CFA had advised that people:
- Action their Bushfire Survival Plan now.
