The body of the 21-year-old Rushworth man was found by police divers on the western side of the weir at Waranga Basin at 4.10pm, more than 48 hours after he went missing while swimming with friends on Saturday afternoon.
The man’s family has been notified.
A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
Acting Senior Sergeant Brendan Randoe said it was believed the man jumped into the water at the entry gate to the dam at the time he disappeared.
Police began a search soon after being notified of his disappearance on Saturday afternoon, but the man could not be found.
Water Police, Search and Rescue and the SES continued the search throughout Sunday and most of Monday.
