Sergeant Dale Simm said she was driving a black Kia Rio north on the Midland Highway when she veered on to the wrong side of the road and collided with a truck.
“The truck’s then taken action to go off the road and then hit the trees and come to rest and she’s gone off to the eastern side and was trapped in the car,” he said.
The truck driver, a 53-year-old Bendigo man was taken to Bendigo Health with a cut to his head.
“He’s done a really good job not to be seriously injured himself,” Sergeant Simm said.
UPDATE 2pm: The Midland Highway is closed in both directions in the area of the crash.
A number of police and Country Fire Authority vehicles are on scene with firefighters working to clear debris from around a truck on the side of the road.
