BENDIGO police are once again urging people to lock their vehicles after a spate of car break-ins across Bendigo in the last five days.

In one instance, a resident of Bennett Street, Long Gully, spotted two men running from the scene while another sat in the back seat of his car following the break-in.
The resident was alerted by their barking dog, and the three men fled the area towards Eaglehawk Road after stealing a small amount of cash.
Two of the men were described as in their early 20s with a solid build, while the third man was wearing a red singlet and a backpack.
Between 11pm on January 25 and 8pm on January 26, a thief lifted the cover of a ute and stole painting equipment valued at $200. The ute was parked on Grantham Terrace, Kangaroo Flat.
A large amount of racing equipment was stolen from a vehicle parked in Gresham Court, Golden Square, between 2am and 5.30am on January 26.
The thief stole a black racing helmet, black thermals, racing gloves, overalls and a neck brace, with a total value of $1000.
A number plate was stolen from a vehicle on Eaglehawk Road, California Gully, between midday on January 28 and 10am on January 29.
After stealing the number plate, the offender then smashed a window in an attempt to enter a second vehicle, but failed and fled the scene.
An offender broke into an unlocked car parked on Creek Street, Bendigo, between 8pm on January 28 and 9am on January 29.
They stole a purse containing cash.
An LED light bar valued at $150 was stolen from a car parked on Uley Street, near the Bendigo hospital. The theft occurred between 6.45am and 3pm on January 29.
Sergeant Tony Kekich, of Bendigo police, said the thefts were a reminder to residents to properly secure their belongings.
“Police advise people to lock up their vehicles and not to leave any cash or valuables in the vehicle,” he said.
Police were also investigating after a brick was thrown through the window of a car parked on Victoria Street, Eaglehawk, between 7pm on January 28 and 7am on January 29.
The attack caused $150 to the vehicle.
