But for those who are still enjoy a life of luxury by taking a break from work or school, there are plenty of things to keep you occupied.
Last night people enjoyed outdoors cinema in Redesdale and from January 11 Cinema Pop Up will arrive in Bendigo.
Cinema Pop Up is an outdoor experience that will be set up in Rosalind Park until January 15.
Films on show will be the original Karate Kid (January 11), Toy Story (January 12), Casino Royal (January 13), Step Brothers (January 14) and Anchorman (January 15).
Entertainment will also include live music, a bar, food trucks and giveaways.
But if relaxing with a good movie doesn’t appeal to you, there are plenty of other activities on offer as part of Summer in the Parks.
Bendigo’s Ultimate Frisbee team are hosting come and try sessions every Friday until the end of February.
The next one is on January 13 at Mason Field Park in Reservoir Road, Strathdale.
Also on this weekend is the Bendigo Monthly Community Ride. The ride will also be held on February 12 at 10am.
It begins at the Rosalind Park piazza in Pall Mall and goes along the Bendigo Creek Trail from 10am to 11am.
Up bright and early on Saturdays is the Bendigo Laughter Club at Ewing Park in Williamson Street while Eaglehawk Croquet Club is hosting golf-croquet from 9.30am each Saturday.
Historical walking tours of Bendigo are conducted each Sunday from 10am from the Bendigo Visitor Information Centre.
Cinema Pop Up is supported by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), Toyota and Prime Super.
TAC senior road safety manager Samantha Cockfield said Cinema Pop-Up is a new way for the TAC to get its road safety message into regional Victoria.
“Victorians are four times more likely to die on country roads so we’re always looking for new ways to help country Victorians get home safely, every time they get behind the wheel,” she said.
Toyota Regional marketing manager Jeremy Watson said supporting community events is part of Toyota’s DNA.
