Revellers can farewell 2016 and welcome 2017 with the traditional midnight fireworks in Rosalind Park.
However, those residents unable or unwilling to make it through to midnight need not fear missing out on the festivities as there will be an earlier display in Rosalind Park at 9.15pm.
“The City of Greater Bendigo is pleased to present both the early 9.15pm and midnight fireworks as part of Summer in the Parks and I encourage residents to gather at various vantage points around the Bendigo central business district and enjoy this year’s firework display,” mayor Margaret O’Rourke said.
For safety reasons, there will be an 85-metre exclusion zone surrounding Rosalind Park tower. In addition, the car park off View Street will be closed from 6am on Saturday until 9am on Sunday.
Residents are urged to ensure their pets are secured and cannot escape if they become spooked.
