The Bucks led 98-97 with just over three minutes to play on Monday, only for the Wizards to close with a 10-4 run as the 10th-placed Wizards improved to 14-16, closing the gap to eighth-placed Milwaukee (14-15).
Boomers guard Dellavedova added eight points to his output, but it came on a poor 1-9 from the field, including 0-5 from beyond the three-point line.
Otto Porter led the way with 32 points and 13 rebounds for the Wizards, while John Wall had 18 points and a season-high 16 assists in the come-from-behind win.
Elsewhere, Aaron Gordon scored 30 points, and Serge Ibaka and Elfrid Payton had 16 apiece as Orlando beat Memphis 112-102.
Cleveland, minus the resting LeBron James, went down 106-90 to Detroit with Tobias Harris' 21 points leading the way for the Pistons, who had six players with double-figure points.
Bojan Bogdanovic scored 26 points as Brooklyn came from behind to beat Charlotte 120-118. Karl-Anthony Towns had 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead Minnesota to a 104-90 win over Atlanta.
Dwyane Wade scored 21 points in the Chicago Bulls’ 90-85 victory over the Indiana Pacers.
