City of Greater Bendigo councillors will be advised to endorse the closure of an Elmore road despite a petition of more than 150 signatures calling on them to reopen it when they meet next week.

The southern block of Campaspe Street, which runs along the Campaspe River at the outskirts of the town, was closed by council in early April following complaints regarding dust generated by traffic and safety concerns of the Jeffery Street and Campaspe Street intersection.
