A YOUNG man has escaped relatively unscathed after rolling his car in North Bendigo on Friday evening.

The 18-year-old was checked over by paramedics at the scene but refused treatment following the incident on Holmes Road.

Leading Senior Constable Todd Deary said it appeared the teenager had lost control of the vehicle after exiting the roundabout at the Prouses Street intersection, hitting a ditch on the side of the road which caused the car to overturn.

Leading Senior Constable Deary said police were still investigating but it appeared driver error was to blame.

Several witnesses assisted police.

CFA and SES crews also attended.
