The Australian Junior Men’s Development Camp will be held in Bendigo from December 10 to 15, with BAS members Liam Clegg, Lewis Roberts, Bailey Keck and Will Mandersloot invited to attend for the 2001-02 age group.
The 2003-04 age group development camp in Melbourne will feature Jakob DeSalvo and Rye Penny.
The camps will give the players a chance to perform in front of National Program coaches and strengthen their case for selection in the Australian Youth Squad that will travel to Thailand next year.
Also involved in the camps, which will feature 150 players, will be BAS coaches Todd Broadbent and Michael Mayes.
Meanwhile, the Australian Junior Women’s Development Camp will be held in Churchill and attended by BAS members Millie Fogarty, Holly Eason and Lauren Cox.
Just like the men’s camp, the women’s group will be put through a series of drills, matches and information sessions with some of the country’s leading coaches.
BAS coach Laura Roberts has also been invited.
“This is the most athletes and coaches we’ve had invited to the Australian junior volleyball camps, which is credit to the quality of the BAS volleyball program,” Broadbent said.
