Bride: Allannah Jenkins
Groom: Nigel Smith
Wedding date: Saturday, October 12, 2016
The meeting: We met on my back veranda for the first time when I came home from work.. I was expecting another tradesman I had spoken to arrange for some work I needing done at my house.
Nigel had been sent instead and was apologetic that I wasn't aware that he had been sent instead to do the work ... I was delighted to see such a tall dark and handsome man. We both felt a strong connection from that moment.
The proposal: Nigel proposed at our favorite restaurant, The Woodhouse, on August 22, 2015 by getting down on bended knee.
The wedding day: We were married at the Bendigo Pottery with Bernie Fitt as Nigel’s best man and Judy-Ann Cantwell as my matron of honour. My eight gorgeous grandchildren were all in the wedding party. I set up the wedding the morning of the wedding with the help of my sisters and created the style of classic vintage spring with the colour yellow a feature. Miranda from Eternal Vase was fabulous working side by side with me to create the stunning look.
The dress: I purchased my dress from Bendigo Bridal Collections. It fitted the classical vintage theme and it was a soft lace that fitted beautifully and was incredibly comfortable to wear.
The cake: Our amazing cake was created by Nigel’s mother whom had driven it down from Swan Hill the day before the wedding. She had made the entire cake flowers and all!
Photography: Ildiko Gagyor – was such fun!
Honeymoon destination: Our honeymoon included stays at Hamilton Island and Daydream Island.
