Lifetime award for McClure

After more than 20 years working with the Castlemaine State Festival, Gary McClure has been awarded a lifetime membership award.

Mr McClure has been integral to the growth and success of the regional arts and culture celebration having taken on the roles of treasurer and chair of the festival board during his time.

Val Victor Gordon, who has worked with Mr McClure during the years, spoke at the ceremony and highlighted his resourcefulness, intelligence, creativity and generosity as reasons he had helped the festival succeed.

Mr McClure thanked the festival for the award and acknowledged the support of his family while he has been involved with the festival.

The festival created the award as a record of the board’s appreciation of Mr McClure’s support and as a way of acknowledging his relationship with the Festival for many years to come.

Mr McClure is continuing his work with the festival as the chair of the Castlemaine Goods Shed Committee.

The 2017 Castlemaine State Festival will be launched on December 7.
