UPDATE: Recapping, three Bendigo Thunder players are off to the AFL Women's League after being drafted this afternoon.
Young gun Bella Ayre was the first player chosen at pick 51 by Carlton.
She will be joined at the Blues by defender Sarah Last who was drafted with pick 94.
Their skipper at the Thunder Emma Grant is off to the Blues' arch-rival Collingwood.
The VWFL Premier Division league best and fairest was selected with pick 91.
Grant has already had a taste of top-level competition having played a in a pair of AFL exhibition games for Melbourne.
A former Thunder player Ainslie Kemp was drafted to Melbourne with pick 88.

UPDATE: AFL boss Gill MacLachlan has called today a “historic day” in Australia rules football.
EARLIER: The day has arrived for AFL Women's Draft hopefuls across Australia, potentially including a few Bendigo Thunder stars.
The long-awaited draft kicks-off in Melbourne at 1pm, with Nicola Barr, best and fairest in the AFL Sydney Women's Premier Division, expected to be the number one pick of Greater Western Sydney.
The draft will contain 145 picks, with the selection order to be reversed in the second round and reverts to the same order as the first round for the third. That arrangement will continue until the completion of the lists.
The draft order from picks 1-8 is: GWS Giants, Brisbane Lions, Carlton, Fremantle, Western Bulldogs, Collingwood, Adelaide, Melbourne.
Thunder names we should be looking for include skipper Emma Grant, young gun Bella Ayre, Sarah Last and midfielder Jess Kennedy.
The eight clubs have already chosen two marquee players each and added players under rookie and priority selection rules.
