In what is believed to be an Australian-first, Kevin Gray has achieved a squat of four-times his bodyweight.
The 32-year-old, who weighs 52.5 kilograms, squatted an incredible 210kgs during a Lift for Life fundraiser at Real Strength gym in Castlemaine last Saturday.
Head coach Dean Mawby said the feat had never before been achieved in Australia and had rarely been performed in the world.
"Kevin held the audience in awe as he warmed up in preparation for his attempt," he said.
"And had them roaring as he squatted the almost unbelievable 210kg, weighing in at just 52.5 kg."
Mawby was quick to brand Gray the "brightest star in Australian powerlifting at the moment" and believed he had every chance of one day breaking the world record of 227.5kg, held by Russian Sergey Fedosienko.
The Lift for Life event raised funds for Move Victoria, formerly Arthritis and Osteoporosis Victoria.
