EIGHT of the 10 Whipstick ward candidates made an appearance at a community forum in Eaglehawk on Monday night.
More than 50 members of the public turned up to hear the candidates’ thoughts on environmental, planning, transport and cultural diversity issues in an event hosted by the Bendigo Sustainability Group, Bike Bendigo and Progress Bendigo.
Candidates also answered questions from the audience on bike paths in Eaglehawk, their preparation for the role of councillor, and the values and skills they would bring to ensure respectful debate.
The forum followed a survey sent out to all City of Greater Bendigo council candidates, to measure their position on such issues.
James Williams, Michelle Goldsmith, Thomas Prince, Wayne Gregson, Peter Cox, Gordon Moore, Andrea Metcalf and Julie Hoskin were the candidates in attendance.
The Lockwood ward forum will be held Monday, October 10 at 7pm at the Y Service Club of Kangaroo Flat and the Eppalock ward forum will take place 7pm Tuesday, October 11 at the Strathdale Community Centre.
