The jazz performer will play in Castlemaine on October 15.
Mr Jones had planned to play at Ulumbarra Theatre’s Supper Club earlier this year but was forced to cancel due to illness.
“I got quite sick with a vocal virus but am glad to be coming back to the area. i have played there meany times before,” he said.
“In this country it’s rare to have jazz in theatre, I might only do three or four shows like that a year.
“Mostly I play in small venues and clubs through the country.”
Mr Jones will play with his quartet and feature his original songs.
“I have been playing with these guys on and off for quite a few years,” he said.
“Being an acoustic band, we don’t demand a lot of equipment, where rock bands might turn up with tow trucks, we just have one minivan.”
Last year Mr Jones released his 15th album, Provodence, and is planning to get back in the studio for a 16th.
“I have got another album planned with Paul Grabowski,” Mr Jones said.
“When I record it is all totally independent. We go in and do it as quickly as possible and then it is mixed on another day.
“We just play the way we play, there’s no effects. After 5000 gigs, if I haven't got it together by now, something’s wrong.”
Vince Jones plays at the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine on October 15.
