Mr Lea moved from Melbourne to Wedderburn earlier this year to expand his cacti farm.
With some 3000 cacti plants on his property, Mr Lea said he was upset when flood waters took over his property yesterday morning.
Mr Lea moved 200 potted plants via his kayak and lost between 20 and 30 of the 3000 plants he owns.
“I was quite devastated in the beginning but I put my chin up and got on with it,” he said.
“There is a big brick causeway alongside my property that overflowed. Two or three paddocks were flooded with in water. It was gushing and too fast to walk through.
“It’s certainly a story to tell.”
Mr Lea said waters began to recede around his property from 6pm last night.
“At about 6pm or 7pm it dropped two inches and this morning it has dropped another four or five inches,” he said.
“There are still a lot of deep puddles around but the water in the paddocks has cleared itself.
“I’m still in gumboots but I’m not wading through anything today.”
