The Ride it For the Kids fundraiser, organised by the Rotary Club of Kangaroo Flat, more than 40 bikes and almost 50 people touring through the central Victorian towns of Newbridge, Dunolly, Maldon and Castlemaine.
Funds raised will be used to buy a medium play set for the paediatric rehabilitation team.
“It will provide a great opportunity to view, assess and provide therapy for the children that are part of our service in a more natural play environment,” Bendigo Health Foundation director Jane Anderson said.
“Donations such as this from the Rotary Club of Kangaroo Flat allow us to provide additional equipment and enhance the experience for our patients.”
Rotary Club of Kangaroo Flat service director Charlie Bovalino said the club was delighted to provide equipment that will help staff and some of the younger patients.
“These services allow children to receive rehabilitation locally and means they don’t have to travel and disrupt their family life,” he said.
“This was the third year we have done this ride and there are plans to continue doing it next year.”
The $3085 presented to Bendigo Health today came from a combination of the April ride and another ride held in December last year.
