The traditional Chinese holiday was hosted by the Bendigo Chinese Association with paper lantern making workshops and ribbon dancing workshops entertaining families in the early afternoon.
From 4pm, Bendigo’s Chinese Lion Dancing teams and Plum Blossom Dancers entertained the crowds.
“The Bendigo Chinese Association hosts this event now but it was previosuly hosted by the museum and goes back nearly 25 years,” BCA member Doug Lougoon said.
“From a cultural point of view it coincides with the harvest in China. They celebrate good times ahead by having a reunion of family and friends.”
