Blake Shaw was killed in his family home after a free-standing bookcase collapsed without warning.
Following the incident his aunt Shaeleigh McKercher started a fundraising campaign to help Blake’s family with funeral and living cost.
“I didn’t know what else to do,” she said.
“What else can you do?
“We’re still in shock, his family is devastated.
“He was always bright and bubbly. He was always smiling. He was just a good kid.”
Mrs McKercher said the online fundraiser had reached $1900 in two days and on Monday was up to $2500.
“The community has been really fantastic,” she said.
“I’d like to thank people for their support and well wishes, it’s not just about the money, it’s the thought.
“I know there’s been a lot of people donating what they can and there’s been a lot of shares.”
Mrs McKercher said she hoped the money would help the family pay funeral expenses as well as daily costs.
She said to find out more or donate visit the Little Blake Shaw gofundme.
