The Orchestra Victoria education program On the mOVe! took to the streets on Wednesday with pop-up performances at the Alexandra Fountain, Bendigo Bank, Rosalind Park’s rotunda and Hargreaves Mall.
OV’s education coordinator John Noble said the program was launched in Bendigo 14 years ago.
“It’s always good coming back to Bendigo, the place where launched entire program,” he said.
“It’s important to get the students out, so locals can see a slice of what they’re doing.
“We can also promote the On the mOVe! concert on Thursday night as well as the rest of activities Orchestra Victoria is doing during the festival.”
On Thursday, students will perform at The Capital’s Bendigo Bank Theatre alongside professional musicians who have been mentoring them all week.
“By then, after three days performing, the students are so brilliant and play with such confidence,” Mr Noble said.
“It’s an amazing experience for them and they take that excitement and energy back to schools afterwards.”
