The Storm’s 16 goal thrashing of South Bendigo combined with Kangaroo Flat’s 35-point loss to Sandhurst Marist Dockers resulted in Strathfieldsaye leapfrogging the Roos into second place.
The Storm will play Sandhurst Marist Dockers in the second semi-final, while the Roos and Golden Square will clash this Sunday in the cut-throat first semi-final.
Golden Square and Sandhurst are on track to meet in the under-14 senior grand final. Square finished the home and away season on top of the table with an unbeaten record.
Sandhurst was two games clear of White Hills in second place after it handed the Demons a 70-point thumping in the final round on Sunday.
Strathfieldsaye and South Bendigo round out the top five in the under-14 seniors.
There appears to be three premiership chances in the under-12A premiership race.
Kyneton finished the home and away season on top with an 11-1 record, while St Therese’s edged out Golden Square for second spot and the double chance.
Castlemaine round out the fop four for the finals.
The BJFL finals series starts this weekend.
Meanwhile, Strathfieldsaye had four players reach milestones in the final round.
Campbell Tangey, of the under 12A team, celebrated his 50th game.
Under-14 reserves 2 team member Jack Carbone played his 50th game.
Clancy Morrison, of the under-14 reserves team, celebrated his 50th game.
Under-14 senior team member Mason Wakefield celebrated his 100th game.
