Police are investigating the collision of a car and milk tanker at Wharparilla, near Echuca, last night.

Witnesses to the incident told police the car was headed along the Murray Valley Highway around 9.45pm when its driver lost control and crashed into the oncoming tanker.
Emergency services attended the scene and the driver and passenger of the car, both believed to be men aged in their 20s, were taken to hospital.
One of the occupants was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition. He also received a blood transfusion.
The driver of the tanker suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for observation.
The highway remains closed in both direction while investigations take place.
