MORE details have emerged of a violent brawl in Eaglehawk last night.
Police were called to a fight at the skate park, which had been organized on Facebook, about 6.25pm.
Senior Constable Bill Edwards said it was predominately teenagers involved in the brawl with some people in their early 20s.
“Initial reports were that there were 20 to 30 people but when we got there, there were about five victims and the offenders had left at that stage,” he said.
Senior Constable Edwards said the offenders had used baseball bats as weapons.
“One man has received a laceration to the head and substantial bruising to the head where he was hit with a baseball bat,” he said.
“During the drawl the rear window was smashed in one of the victim’s cars.”
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said an ambulance was called to the scene at 6.25pm but was then cancelled. He said a person was taken to hospital by private car.
Senior Constable Edwards said police believed the fight was part of an ongoing dispute.
“It’s believed to be stemming from an altercation a day earlier between one of the victims and one of the offenders,” he said.
“They organized a time and place over Facebook.
“Posting things on Facebook is becoming a problem in Bendigo."
“It has become the easy way to spread the word about something.
A suspect has been identified and Senior Constable Edwards said police were now trying to track him down.
