Ambulance Victoria drove the woman, in her 20s, to Melbourne after being called to Kyneton-Trentham Rd near Tylden on Saturday morning.
The woman is in a stable condition.
Kyneton Sergeant Carl Dalton said the woman sustained minor head and hand injuries.
He said she was thrown from the tray of a ute while the driver was trying to corral about 15 horses that got loose.
