Crone, Hartley and Bouwmeester were included in a squad of 38 to prepare for the under-19 national titles in Adelaide in December.
The squad members will complete skills, fitness, nutrition and performance management components during training sessions leading up to a carnival in Barooga in September.
Two country teams and two metro teams will be selected to play in Barooga. From that carnival the Vic Country and Vic Metro teams for the national championships will be chosen.
“Barooga offers a level playing field for all players in terms of competition for spots, with great conditions that allow for some quality cricket early in the season,’’ High Performance Academy coach Jarrad Loughman said.
