Our region is amazing. Great people, fantastic community, beautiful surrounds and a resurgent regional economy. It’s not perfect though, with issues around jobs, infrastructure, water security, the ice scourge, a struggling CBD and keeping our people and environment healthy.

I’m from here, I know here and I know what it takes to drive our community forward for the future. An economist and Maldon local, I run a retail store and live issues locals face. I will be a champion advocate for our region and as part of Malcolm Turnbull’s team in Canberra. I will work tirelessly as your local MP to deliver the Turnbull government’s Plan for a Strong New Economy.
It’s a plan that creates jobs and growth and it’s a plan that’s working, with over 220,000 new jobs created in the last twelve months. Yet we need to bring more of them here. That’s why my number one priority is to create jobs for local workers. As a small business operator I know that supporting small businesses – the engine room of our economy – creates more jobs here in Bendigo. And it’s why the Turnbull Liberal Government is investing $840 million in a plan to tackle youth unemployment and skills.
Advanced manufacturing is also key to Bendigo’s future. Transitioning our local manufacturing base to deliver in a modern, dynamic economy creates sustainable jobs for local residents.
The Turnbull Government will deliver a $1.3 billion investment in 1100 Hawkei vehicles delivered by Thales’ Bendigo workforce. Using local skills and know-how this project will create hundreds of new jobs in our community.
I will also fight to fix local roads, battle the scourge of ice through my ice action plan, solve mobile black spots and stand up for better V/Line services.
I’ve got a plan to work with traders down the mall and invest in keeping our community safe. A plan to support grassroots sport, keeping people physically and mentally healthy. I’ll work with the community on environmental initiatives, including direct funding for solar power.
I’ll advocate relentlessly for Central Victorian water security and work within the government to make sure we retain our fair share, so we can all plan for a strong future.
Your vote for me is also a vote to protect our CFA volunteers. A re-elected Turnbull Government will pass legislation to ensure our local CFA volunteers are protected from Labor’s deal to hand over the CFA to a militant union. As a small business owner and someone with experience working with governments, the local community and business I will always put central Victoria first.
I ask you to back my Liberal plan and stand with me for a better Bendigo.
