The Dye Hard Colour Run, held at Maitland Showground, had the massive crowd shake off the winter blues with a Zumba warm-up before hitting the track.
People ran, walked and danced the five kilometre circuit while organisers doused them in brightly coloured chalk.
Early in the morning the event looked in doubt as the East Coast Low brought steady rain to Maitland.
But by 10am the faithful had their dedication rewarded with a window of clear weather.
It didn’t last long, however, heavier rain hit around 11.30am giving everyone a much-needed wash.
Organisers said they were happy with the turnout.
The next Dye Hard Fun Run will be held on August 28 at Singleton’s Rose Point Park.
