The 10-year-old’s latest results come as a huge relief to her family.
“She finished her treatment in February,” Jordyn’s mother Jayne said.
“It is a life-changing event having a child go through that but we support of Leukaemia Foundation which made it a lot easier.
Part of the Leuakemia Foundation’s support came through them providing the Demeo family with a fully furnished, two-bedroom apartment to call home during Jordyn’s treatment.
Located near the MCG, it made life easier for Jordyn’s family.
“We didn’t have to worry about travelling, which alleviated a lot, of the stress. For people to travel each day (to treatment) makes it a lot harder,” Jayne said.
As a way of thanking the Leukaemia Foundation for their support Jayne is taking part in Stadium Stomp, a fundraiser even that will see her run up and down more than 7300 steps at the MCG.
“The money from this goes to the foundation,” she said.
“It’s not easy, climbing those steps. I learned about it through social media and did it last year with a friend.”
Participants in Stadium Stomp start on level 1 of the MCG and steady proceed to level 4.
Bendigo’s Rosalind Park poppet head and the grandstand at the QEO have provided good training grounds for Jayne.
“A lot of the team members have been going with me,” she said.
“I work at Fernwood and the members have been doing classes and using the stepper (for training) as well.”
Since finishing her treatment, Jordyn has treturned to being a fully-active 10-year-old by playing netball and competing in swimming.
“Even through the treatment when she was well enough, she would continue her sport,” Jayne said.
“We love the footy and have spent a bit of time at the MCG. Jordyn wants to (take part in Stadium Stomp) but is only 10. When she turns 12 she can have a go.”
As well as Stadium Stomp, the Demeo family is raising money for the Leukaemia Foundation with a fundraiser at Bendigo Cinemas on Friday, June 17.
