The festival returns for its third year this weekend with 95 bands playing at a host of venues across the town.
Two new performance spaces have been added to the Old Castlemaine Gaol while the Maldon to Castlemaine steam train will host bands over the weekend.
There is a feast of swinging big bands at the Campbells’ Creek Community Centre and the old gaol and one of the youngest bands at the festival, the Limelight Band, will join perhaps the oldest festival musicians (at 84 years old) in the Morris Ward Combo.
The weekend also features two free concerts on Saturday and Sunday in the centre of town from at 10am on the Community Stage in the historic Market Building in Mostyn Street.
Evening sam sessions each night featuring leading musicians mixing in together at the Cumberland Hotel from 10pm.
