The station was officially opened on Saturday, and the brigade held an open day on Sunday, allowing the community its first look at the $1.8 million station.
The brigade moved into the Helm Street station in September and has experienced its first summer in the new home.
Open day organiser James O’Brien said it was a significant improvement.
“At the old station, we had to stop traffic to reverse the truck out. It was basically just a shed,” he said.
“The new station gives us the resources we need.”
The station includes four 16-metre parking bays, two formal turnout rooms, a large meeting room, brigade office and sleeping quarters.
The community and brigade helped to raise funds to support the construction of the new station by selling calendars, along with government contributions.
The station can also act as a command centre.
