Elemental, currently showing at the La Trobe University Visual Arts Centre, brings together 13 Goldfields Printmakers in an exploration of the four natural elements: earth, air, fire and water.
Since moving to Barkers Creek 21 years ago, Leonie Auhl has enjoyed the airy panoramic views from her hilltop home. Auhl’s monotypes draw on the subtleties of the changing sky, from early morning to late night.
While Auhl is interested in the meeting point of earth and air, Amanda Lawler is attracted to “the interface between land and water". Lawler, who lives and works on a property within the Lake Eppalock catchment, draws on her personal connection to the land in the creation of her map-like screen prints.
Elemental runs until April 10.
