The 43-year-old Eaglehawk woman was driving southbound along Averys Road in a blue Toyota Camry with her 15-year-old daughter at 8.25am this morning when she collided head on with a car turning into Parker Street.
She was taken to hospital shortly after with neck pain. Her daughter is uninjured.
The driver of the other vehicle, a bronze Holden Commodore, was a 39-year-old from California Gully. She was also uninjured, though visibly shaken by the accident.
“I slowed right down to turn when the car skidded on the slippery road and started fishtailing and we collided head on,” she said.
Averys Road has a 60 kilometre per hour speed limit.
Highway Patrol Senior Sergeant Dale Andrew said speed and alcohol were not factors.
“It just comes down to the slippery roads,” Senior Sergeant Andrew said.
“People need to be considering that and drive to the conditions.”
The driver of the Commodore will be issued with an infringement notice.
By 9.10am both cars had been removed from the scene and traffic resumed to normal.
