Griffin pulled her hamstring when diving for a ball in the second half of Saturday night’s 82-74 loss to Dandenong.
She left the court for a short time before returning to play, but was clearly hampered.
"She slipped on the floor and pulled a hamstring — we'll assess that early in the week," Spirit coach Simon Pritchard told Fairfax Media.
"She is pretty fit and pretty good in terms of her flexibility, so it may not be that bad but she was certainly in pain and couldn't push off that leg and she still played well off one leg."
With the race for the finals so close, the Spirit can’t afford to lose Griffin for even one game.
Griffin led the Spirit with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Gabe Richards had 15 points and nine rebounds. Belinda Snell was 5-15 for her 15 points and Kelly Wilson 4-13 for her 12 points and nine assists.
Dandenong’s execution was the major difference. The Rangers attempted 21 less shots than the Spirit, but shot the ball at 50 per cent compared to Bendigo’s 37 per cent.
Despite the loss to the Rangers (13-7) the Spirit (12-8) are still fourth thanks to Sydney Uni’s 92-73 loss to South East Queensland (11-8). Sydney Uni has lost four in a row to slip to 12-9.
Meanwhile, Matthew Dellavedova scored 15 points to go with five rebounds and three assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the San Antonio Spurs 117-103.
