Mueck, Herbert and Martin are part of a quality field of 50 professionals, who will battle for $11,000 in prizemoney.
“It’s great for the club and great for Bendigo to have this event,’’ Mueck said on Thursday.
“It’s a strong field and you’re going to have to shoot a low number to win.”
Mueck enjoyed a career-best year in 2015 and he’d love nothing more than to kick-off 2016 with a win on a course that’s like a second home to him.
“It’s always nice to play on a course that you’ve played one million times,’’ Mueck said.
“I struggled towards the end of 2015 but the Christmas break has done me the world of good.
“I’m feeling pretty confident in the way I’m hitting the ball at the moment and my putting is as good as it’s ever been.”
Mueck will need to be at his best if he’s to win the tournament.
Inaugural winner of the Neangar Park Pro-Am, David Bransdon, returns to defend his crown. Bransdon fired a six-under par 65 to win that day by five shots from Mitch Brown.
Ash Hall, David McKenzie and Euan Walters are other high-profile pros who are expected to challenge for the title.
Hall, who spent the previous two years on the web.com Tour in the United States, has already won two Pro-Am events this month and shapes as the man to beat.
Mueck said the course was in great shape.
“It’s a credit to the greenkeepers that despite the lack of rain this summer that they have the course looking so good,’’ Mueck said.
“It’s in really impressive condition and I’m sure we’ll see some low numbers.”
The event couldn’t be held without a major sponsor and Evolution Copy Print Solutions’ Mark Roberts has given his backing to the tournament for the second time.,
“As a local business owner, I'm very proud to be associated with Neangar Park and the Pro Am for the second year running,’’ Roberts said.
“I think it’s very important for Bendigo to attract such PGA events to the area.
“It's beneficial for Bendigo with some 52 professionals in the field this year which means money will be spent with local business through accommodation, restaurants etc and that's a good thing for the local community.
“For any one who loves the sport, it's a great opportunity to play alongside golfers that you would normally only see on TV.”
The Pro-Am starts at 10.30am. Free entry for spectators.
