The party confirmed the selection of Ms Chapman on its website this week, ending months of speculation after she met with Ms Hanson for her birthday in Bendigo late last year.
On the One Nation website, Ms Chapman is described as a “tireless campaigner for the rights of her constituents”, becoming a “regular media headline in the Bendigo region” for her opposition to the Bendigo mosque.
In the statement, Ms Chapman said she is a “firm believer in truth over political correctness”.
“If elected, I will ask the hard questions and demand answers so that Australians can be fully informed on a range of issues and I will vote against any legislation that will harm the Aussie way of life,” she said.
Ms Chapman also made comments about Islam in her candidate biography.
She ran for the Australian Country Alliance in the 2014 state election in the Bendigo West electorate, when she received 2.8 per cent of first preference vote, coming in fifth out of six candidates.
