FLORA HILL: Police caught two teenage girls stealing items from a construction site in the Bendigo region on Sunday night.
After being called to the site by nearby residents at 9.30pm, police apprehended the two girls and found plastering tape, silicon and bathroom tiles in a backpack.
One of the girls attempted to flee police when they arrived and needed to be handcuffed.
They received cautions for the offence.
BENDIGO: A 15-year-old girl was caught stealing cosmetics from a Bendigo supermarket on Friday afternoon.
After leaving the store with $40 worth of foundation, police stopped her on a nearby street for unrelated matters and asked her to empty her pockets.
She told police she had items that she shouldn’t have, and attempted to flee.
Police caught her soon after, and she was handcuffed. They then found two flick knives in her pockets.
She received a caution for the theft and weapons offence.
BENDIGO: Guilt got the better of a Kennington man on Saturday, who handed himself into police for the theft of two vehicles two years ago.
The 34-year-old man visited the police station and admitted to stealing a motorbike from Eaglehawk and a car from Bendigo during a “drug binge” two years ago.
The motorbike had been sold to a man in Melbourne, who had later been charged with handling stolen goods.
The stolen car has yet to be identified.
BENDIGO: A compactor was stolen from a house construction site on Barkly Mews, Bendigo, on Monday night.
Between 2pm Monday and 1am Tuesday, the Cromwell compactor – valued at $1300 – was taken from a business carrying out the construction of a driveway at the site.
KNOWSLEY: Twelve fencing panels were stolen from a construction site in Knowsley earlier this month.
Valued at $1200 overall, the fencing went missing from the site on Moorabbee Foreshore Road between November 6 and 24.
ASCOT: Cash was stolen from a car, believed to be unlocked, parked in Alkoomi Court, Ascot on Sunday night.
About $100 in change was stolen from the ashtray and cup holder between 9.30pm and 11pm.
