More than 300 budding athletes raced in the school’s fun-run this month, securing in excess of $12,500 in donations.
Physical education teacher Michael Smith said the cash will be spent on new sports equipment.
“It was great to see so many students supporting their school by collecting sponsorship,” he said.
Prep student Jayden Evans was the highest individual fundraiser, calling on his family and friends to help bank $1070 for the cause.
“It was pretty fun, but also hard,” he said.
The fun-run was Spring Gully’s major fundraiser for 2015 and a change of pace from last year’s bike-a-thon.
Participants dressed up as their favourite sporting hero, coming costumed as AFL stars, tennis players and even motocross riders.
Matilda Clohesy, who came as Heather Oliver, and Campbell Smith, who wore the yellow and black of Richmond, were the school’s next two highest earners, raising over $400 each.
