The ‘Ride it for the Kids’ charity motorbike riders will head to Gisborne for the Classic and Antique Motorcycle show, with each paying $15 a head and all proceeds going towards the Bendigo Health Pediatric Rehab Unit and Suicide Prevention.
Organiser Charlie Bovalino said he was hoping for more than 70 riders to participate and help raise awareness, as well as much needed money.
“You don’t often think of kids in rehab, well a lot of them have been born with birth defects and may only have to see a physio once a week,” he said.
“They used to have to go to Melbourne for that, which was incredibly disruptive to their families, their schooling…
“Now they have the basics covered here by the government, but what we want to do is help chip in with the extras, help the physios go that little bit further.”
