In what was the first Twenty20 meeting between the clubs, the Jets crunched 4-210 batting first at Flight Centre Park.
Pat Felmingham led the way with a whirlwind 93 off 48 balls that included 78 runs scored in sixes and fours – seven sixes and nine fours.
Felmingham’s 93 followed his 45 against Strathdale-Maristians last round.
Also making a half-century for the Jets was Nick Scullie, who cracked 69 off 36, featuring six sixes and four fours.
Since the BDCA competition began in 2008-09, only Bendigo’s 5-226 against Golden Square in 2011-12 and the Jets’ 3-224 against White Hills in 2012-13 have been higher scores than Strathfieldsaye’s tally on Tuesday night.
Sandhurst made 5-182 in reply, which would normally win more Twenty20 matches than it loses.
No batting or bowling details were supplied for Sandhurst – which is now 0-3 – while Andrew Stove (2-17) and Brad Rohde (2-32) picked up two wickets each for the Jets.
Strathfieldsaye’s win squared the Jets’ Twenty20 ledger at 1-1.
• Kangaroo Flat made it back-to-back wins in what was another high-scoring contest against Bendigo United at Harry Trott Oval.
With skipper Brent Hamblin starring with the bat, the Roos crunched 4-185 batting first.
Coming in with the score at 2-22, Hamblin smacked 86 (four sixes, seven fours).
Hamblin and Adam Burns (45, two sixes, three fours) shared in a 98-run stand for the fourth wicket, while earlier, opener Tyler Hinds struck six boundaries in making 37.
Miggy Podosky (2-29) was the only multiple wicket-taker for the Redbacks, before he then had an entertaining stint out in the middle with the bat.
Podosky smashed an unbeaten 66 (five fours, two sixes) in the Redbacks’ score of 9-167, while the Roos’ Mitch Whittle produced a rare Twenty20 five-wicket haul in snaring 5-23 off four overs.
Whittle dismissed Ben Gunn (33), Corey Bicknell (2), Mark Di Fede (9), Harry Donegan (1) and Jack Bouwmeester (0).
Kangaroo Flat is now 2-1, while Bendigo United is 0-2 and has lost its past nine Twenty20 matches.
• In the clash of the past two Twenty20 champions, Bendigo defeated Huntly-North Epsom by six wickets at Poyser Motors Oval.
After winning the toss and batting, the Power was restricted to 7-97.
Opener Brodie McRae (32) and Peter Moore (25) were the only players to make more than 20 for the Power.
Craig Pearce was superb in keeping the pressure on with the ball for the Goers in taking 2-6 off four overs, including a maiden, while Alex Pearson (2-16) also picked up two wickets.
Bendigo took 14.3 overs to answer with 4-99, spearheaded by 47 from opener Marcus McKern.
McKern and James Seymour (24) got the Goers away to a solid start with a 40-run opening stand.
Jayson Trenfield (2-25) took two of the four wickets for the Power, who are now 0-3, while Bendigo improved to 2-0.
• Eaglehawk won its second game with a four-wicket triumph over Golden Square at Canterbury Park.
Square compiled 5-129 batting first, with openers Scott Trollope (39 off 25, one six, four fours) and marquee player Nick Hyden (35 off 41, five fours) the top scorers.
The pair put on 54 for the first wicket.
Cameron McGlashan was the pick of the Eaglehawk bowlers in taking 3-20 off four overs.
Eaglehawk successfully chased its target down, winning with seven balls to spare as it reached 6-130.
The Hawks had been under pressure early at 2-16, with previous round century-maker Andrew Smith (11) and marquee player Jeremy Brown (4) the wickets to fall.
However, Anthony West (37 n.o. off 33, one six, one four) and Cory Jacobs (30 off 25, three fours) set the Hawks on the path to victory.
While the Hawks improved to 2-1 with the victory, Golden Square is now 1-1.
• Round four, Tuesday, December 8 – Bendigo v Bendigo United; Golden Square v Strathfieldsaye; Strathdale-Maristians v Sandhurst; White Hills v Kangaroo Flat.
