“Another big one is lettuce – does it have any place on a burger?” he said.
And then there’s beetroot…
Morris has weighed into the debate, emphatically declaring an Aussie burger must have both beetroot and pineapple and, for the record, cos lettuce gives a burger it’s necessary crunch.
But, though he takes them deadly seriously, Morris takes some unorthodox views to burger making – or murger making in his lingo.

Among his more unusual creations is the 'mac 'n' cheese murger', which he dreamt up to trick his kids into eating lettuce and tomato.
He also makes a mean Mexican murger, which packs among its ingredients jalapeno relish, avacado and tortilla chips.
