Groom: Brenton Dillon
Date: October 16
The meeting: Brenton and Kaitlin first met through mutual friends on a night out in Bendigo.
The proposal: Brenton kept it a complete surprise just before Christmas 2014. He took Kaitlin's older sister to Melbourne and they picked out a diamond solitaire that she would love from Paul Bram, where Kaitlin's dad had purchased her mum's engagement ring 48 years before. They went up to Kaitlin's parents’ farm near Echuca and he asked her to take a motorbike ride to take their dog Huey for a run. They reached a special place on the farm and he, on bended knee, proposed to her (she was still in her pyjamas!)
The wedding day: Kaitlin and Brenton's wedding was pure sophistication and elegance - simplicity at its best. The touch of whimsy came with her 13 flowergirls - all her nieces which delighted family, friends and spectators alike. Kaitlin was attended by her elder sister Lorelle Pearse and Brenton's best man was his childhood friend Dom Taylor.
Kaitlin is the youngest of eight children of Kay and Ambrose Christian of Echuca. Brenton is the only son of Jenny and Colin Dillon of Bendigo. Kaitlin's 96-year-old grandmother was one of 130 guests. The wedding ceremony was held at St Mary's Church, Echuca. Family and friends were then bused out to Perricoota Station in Moama on the banks of the mighty Murray River.
Guests had pre-dinner drinks at the beautiful homestead prior to moving to the Packing Shed Restaurant, beautifully adorned in spectacular green and white floral arrangements by Mak Ogden at Clementine Floral Echuca, where they were treated to a beautiful three course meal.
The White Tree band from Melbourne kept the crowd moving all night long as heartfelt family speeches were also heard. Next day celebrations were held at The American Hotel and guests were again entertained by Echuca lad Liam Guinan on the deck. A beautiful weekend where two loving families and friends joined together and celebrated.
The dress: When Kaitlin was struggling to find 'the' gown for her amazing day, it was her father that influenced her decision where to go. He had seen a photo in the newspaper of a dress at the Logies which he thought was perfect (from a farmer's opinion!) and he was right.
Kaitlin met with Sonya Cappellazzo of Cappellazzo Couture in Camberwell and discussed her perfect dress. Together they worked for nine months and produced a gown that was exactly what Kaitlin had imagined. Sonya's attention to detail, and warm and supportive nature, made the process so easy and so much fun. It was simply stunning - sophisticated elegance. Brenton and Dom's suits were from Briggins and Lorelle's dress was by Carla Zampatti. The flowergirls, which included Annie, Lucy, Poppy, Millie, Jemima, Imogen, Remee, Eden, Haddie, Ruby, Lottie, Isabelle and Pippa, were all in dresses by Tea Princess. Flowers and halos were made by Mak Ogden at Clementine Floral.
The cake: The raspberry and white chocolate cake was made by Cakewalk Bendigo.
The photographer: Cindy Power Photography captured every beautiful moment.
The honeymoon: Fiji, where we were helicoptered to Tokoriki Island
