There was an array of styles on display and judges favoured a return to Audrey Hepburn-type silhouettes.
Lace, leather, metal and floral prints were popular this year, and judges thought highly of fashionistas who paired traditional racewear with bold new trends.
Judges awarded around $17,000 worth of prizes to the most stylish Lady of the Day, Local Lady of the Day, Man of the Day and a Millinery Award.
The Lady of the Day was awarded to Melburnian woman Emma Scodellaro, with Racehl Seach given the runner up spot.
Ms Scodellaro’s subtle, soft dress was topped with a large red hat that took the judges attention.
“It was so effortlessly put together,” said judge Josie DeRous of Cue Australia.
Ms DeRous praised the colour balance, dress-length and grace of the look.
“She encapsulates what racing is all about.”
The Local Lady of the Day was awarded to Angie Jackman who wore a stylish navy and created her own millinery headpiece for the day.
Trudi Dauch was awarded Bendigo’s runner up, awarded by Jill Cantwell-Fox from Jools for Jim.
Not to be outdone in the fashion stakes by the women, Callum Rowe wowed crowds with his well-fitted suit, cuffed pants, textured attire and his use of “on trend” navies and blues to take out the Man of the Day category.
A very stylish Manny Cao took out second place.
said a combination of metallic flowers and strong structure saw former Bendigo woman Ashleigh Barri pick up first place in the millinery stakes, with Narelle Griffin taking home second prize.
Jill Humphries from Jill and Jack Millinery praised the tactile look and structural elements of the headpiece.
Bendigo Myer representatives spent the day scouring the crowds looking for stand-out attire.
But it wasn’t all about what you what you wear, but a certain air of confidence.
