Bendigo’s Beer’s Justin McPhail and Trevor Birks hosted the city’s annual homebrew competition at the Goldmines Hotel on Saturday.
The pair, along with Basement Bar’s Scott Seymour and Tooborac Hotel and Brewery’s James Carlin, judged the 12 handcrafted brews entered in the event.
Judges chose Richard Maskew’s Imperial IPA as favourite.
The award for the “most out there” beer went to a Belgian triple-brewed by Callum Service.
The people’s choice award went to Brett Davis for his extra special bitter.
