Inaccuracy plagued the Storm - particularly in the second half when they kicked 5.13 – in what was an 11.21 (87) to 6.8 (44) victory at Harry Trott Oval.
The Storm joins Rochester (1962) and Golden Square (1978 and 2011) with unblemished home and away seasons since 1950.
“South Bendigo was hard at it and applied plenty of pressure, but we just couldn’t kick straight,” Storm coach Darryl Wilson said.
Best for the Storm – who had Sam Mildren and Shaun Everington late withdrawals and Michael Harvey make his senior debut – included midfielders Kallen Geary and David Gallagher and ruckman Michael Pilcher.
The better players for the Bloods – who had been within 15 points at half-time – featured key backman Blake O’Halloran and onballers Joel Swatton and Aaron Connaughton. The Bloods end the season ninth at 4-14.
