The Ranges (8-5-1) beat the Pioneers (2-12) by three points earlier this year to continue their dominance of Bendigo.
“We need to make it a really contested game with a lot of pressure,” Pioneers coach Brett Henderson said.
“Eastern likes to play an open style of game, so we have to make sure we defend really well.”
The Pioneers – who were beaten by the Calder Cannons in their last match - have named Inji Fyfe as their 23rd player for the match.
“He’s a well-built 16-year-old midfielder who was in the initial Vic Country squad, so we’re looking forward to giving him an opportunity and hopefully, he performs well for us,” Henderson said.
Saturday’s game at Box Hill City Oval starts at 1pm.
