“Some people are saying it might be at the Old Gillies factory… I can say that I don’t think it’s going to be held there,” the event organiser said.
The man – who asked his name be withheld – said he was working with the owner of a local warehouse to secure a liquor licence and would have a party date soon.
“It’ll hopefully be held August 22 or mid-September,” he said.
“At this stage I’m still working on dates so I’ve got the venue on hold while we try to get it over the line with the owner and sort public liability.
“I can say it’ll be 100 per cent legal.”
Details of the party will emerge later this month, but location won’t be revealed until the day.
“I’ve just set up a website where people can sign up and get tickets,” the organiser said.
“On the day of the event they will receive an email telling them where to go.”
Though details remain scant, party goers can expect electronic music.
“For past events I brought up acts like Alison Wonderland, Flume, Peking Duk...” the organiser said.
“I won’t be able to book them for this show, but that’s the style of music people can expect.”
The secret event organiser said he believed it would be Bendigo’s first warehouse party – but if all goes according to plan, it won’t be the last.
“Hopefully, if it goes well, we’ll do one every month until the end of the year,” he said.
Tickets start at $10 (going up to an unknown amount) and the amount available is capped – at a secret number.
An event website went live Friday morning.
Party goers can also follow the Warehouse Party Bendigo - Secret Location Facebook post for updates.
When this article was published, nearly 700 people had said they would be attending.
